Parks Canada Guided Outings and Events in Rouge Park
December 2016

Winter is on the way... the Holiday Season is here, all we need is a proper Toronto snow to complete the package! Add a Parks Canada guided hike to your holiday plans. The Rouge is transforming all the time and you don't want to miss it!

Dress for the weather. And hydration is a must. We always suggest boots made for the trail, these will help grip trails as they change to winter conditions. If it's really snowy, here's another tip. To keep us safe and ready to get out there, we wear boot traction and recommend Microspikes.

We Go Rain or Shine or Snow!
The Parks Canada team are ready to head out in all weather, and are always ready to help you learn how to as well. Dress for the day's weather, avoid getting caught out. If we experience severe weather while on the trail, the leader will guide the group accordingly - you're in good hands with us.
If there is any advance reason for us to cancel we do our best to post this before the walk time via our Visitor Services line 647 938 3946.

      Get Ready:
    • Dogs on leash are generally welcome, but occasionally we may ask for our canine friends to join another outing. Look for the "Dog Friendly" note for each outing to be sure!
    • Look for the "Family Friendly" note for each outing too. Child carriers, rather than strollers are better for the trails, and your hike!
    • Bring some water with you, in a reusable bottle, or thermal mug; enough to carry you through your visit with us.
    • Our trails are rugged, and may be steep and slippery in wet weather. Hiking boots are always recommended. Winter is coming. Be ready for ice.We recommend adding Microspikes to grip the winter trail. Please avoid wearing fashion shoes, flip flops, sandals and smooth-soled shoes.
    • Be prepared! Dress for the weather, we walk rain, snow or shine! Bring binoculars and camera, water and snacks.
    • It's also a good idea to carry a small backpack to stay hands-free.
    • Do you take medication regularly? It's a good idea to bring it along.
    • Click here to get totally ready to walk year-round!
