Arriving by Public Transit

Much of the park is accessible by public transit.

If you are coming from the City of Toronto, call the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) information line at 416-393-INFO for route and schedule information.

If you are comiong from York Region, call York Region Transit (YRT) at 1-866-MOVE YRT (668-3978) for routes and schedules.

If you are coming from Durham Region, call Durham Region Transit at 1-866-247-0055 for route and schedule information.

If you are coming from within the Greater Toronto Area, certain areas are also accessible by GO Transit, call 1-888-GET-ON-GO (438-6646).

TTC bus: bus 85A Sheppard East stops at Sheppard Avenue East and Rainbow Ridge Avenue

Durham Transit: Bus 923 runs regularly from the Ajax GO station to U of T Scarborough campus. Bus 900 runs across Kingston Road from Oshawa to the U of T Scarborough campus. For either of these routes, please contact Durham Region Transit to confirm the stop to connect with the TTC 85 bus at Kingston Road/Sheppard Av. E. then use the TTC notes above.

Glen Rouge Campground

There is no transit stop at the campground. Nearby transit stops are a 1 km walk.

TTC (Toronto local transit): Bus 85 (from Don Mills Subway or Rouge Hill GO Station) to Sheppard Avenue East and Kingston Road.Then walk about 1km eastbound on the north side of Kingston Road, until you reach the Glen Rouge Campground entrance.

Durham Transit: Bus 923 runs regularly from the Ajax GO station to U of T Scarborough campus. Bus 900 runs across Kingston Road from Oshawa to the U of T Scarborough campus. For either of these routes, please contact Durham Region Transit to confirm the stop on Kingston Road nearest the Glen Rouge Campground. If you get off east of the Campground, walk west over the Rouge River bridge until you see the Glen Rouge Campground sign and driveway. If you get off west of the Campground (i.e. Kingston Road/Sheppard Av. E.), walk east on the north side of the street until you come to the Glen Rouge Campground Driveway.

GO Transit (regional bus): Oshawa/Highway 2 route (Oshawa - Yorkdale). Get off at Kingston Road and Port Union Road and walk eastbound about 1km on the north side of Kingston Road, until you reach the Glen Rouge Campground entrance.

Zoo Road Trailhead (Meadowvale Av., opposite the Toronto Zoo)

TTC (Toronto local transit): Bus 85 (from Don Mills Subway or Rouge Hill Go Station) or 86 (from Kennedy Subway) via Toronto Zoo. Please check TTC seasonal schedules for these routes to help plan your journey, as branches, times and days of service change.

Once heading up Meadowvale north of Sheppard, the bus goes up a ramp. Get off at the stop at the top of the ramp at the traffic lights (i.e. before the bus turns to go to the Zoo itself). Walk east about 1 minute to see a brick building and park information signs.

Durham Transit: Bus 923 runs regularly from the Ajax GO station to U of T Scarborough campus. Bus 900 runs across Kingston Road from Oshawa to the U of T Scarborough campus. For either of these routes, please contact Durham Region Transit to confirm the stop to connect with the TTC 85 bus at Kingston Road/Sheppard Av. E. heading to the zoo. If the 85 bus is not going directly to the zoo, connect with the 86 bus at Meadowvale and Sheppard and follow the notes above.

GO Transit (regional bus): Oshawa/Highway 2 route (Oshawa - Yorkdale).
Get off at Kingston Road and Port Union/Sheppard and take TTC bus 85 heading to Meadowvale and Sheppard or the Toronto Zoo (bus stop is at the NE corner of Kingston Road and Sheppard).
If the 85 does not go all the way to the Zoo, connect on the 86 at Meadowvale and Sheppard bus heading to the Zoo.

Rouge Beach

TTC bus: bus 54A/E stops at Lawrence Avenue East and Starspray Blvd and walk east approximately 400 metres down the Rouge Beach driveway.

Durham Transit: Take bus 923 or 900 to connect with the TTC 85 Sheppard East bus which goes to the Rouge Hill GO Station. For either of these routes, please contact Durham Region Transit to confirm the stop to connect with the TTC 85 bus at Kingston Road/Sheppard Av. E. to reach the GO station. Then take the TTC 54 bus eastbound bus as above.

GO Train: Rouge Hill GO Station on Lakeshore East line is 1.3 km from beach entrance


Our other day use areas are at least 2 km from the nearest transit stop
