Tip-in tips

Bring your canoe and explore the marshes at Rouge Beach, where you can see many kinds of birds, and a beautiful view of Lake Ontario.

It is best to canoe at the marshes and on the widest area of the river. The Rouge River is not accessible upstream north of Highway 401. Once you must portage, you should expect that you will have to continue portaging. Water levels and the current vary with seasonal precipitation. For your own safety, always exercise caution on the river.

For safety, canoe with a partner and always wear a Personal Flotation Device. The river is not patrolled and no lifeguards are available.

Sorry, no equipment is rented at this site.

No motorized boating is permitted on the river, or at the beach and marshes.
